can you outline some of the changes in -test packages ? Why the need for another branch rather than releasing with normal packages? I am just curious as to what the major changes are.

i am interested into the new BGP features.

is the time about multiple recursive next-hop?

Basically all changes and fixes in the MPLS package that are mentioned in the Wiki articles are only in the new MPLS test package, so if you use MPLS, you MUST use the new package.

It's possible to do MPLS with MME? without OSPF or BGP?

It depends on what protocol is used for label distribution. LDP distributes label for each active route except BGP routes, so - yes, it will also distribute labels for MME routes. This in turn enables routers to MPLS switch packets along routes established (learned) by MME.

As to RSVP TE - only protocol for RSVP TE information exchange that RouterOS supports is OSPF. Still this does not mean that RSVP TE can not be used in network where routes are exchanged with MME - you just can not use CSPF - to have "constraint based path selection". Tunnel paths will be established over regular route towards tunnel destination (no matter what bandwith allocations are made on interfaces).

This might be a stupid question, but can you use MPLS and BGP in RouterOS level 4? BGP is only available in RouterOS level 5 and 6 right?

It depends on system architecture - x86 does not support BGP in level 4, but RouterBoards do support. Wether BGP is allowed or not at any level, does not affect MPLS, but essentially you need level that supports BGP if your setup requires BGP (MPBGP).

Does this only go for new installs? I have a level 4 X86 system using 3.7 running full tables with two peers.. It was an upgrade from 2.9 though.. Now I'm a bit concerned about upgrading ROS or messing with bgp on that router..

Depends on what you mean by "use MPLS QoS", but most likely answer is - yes.

If packet is MPLS switched over WMM enabled link - either by "normal" hop or penultimate hop, WMM access category will be chosen based on EXP bits of received label (because EXP gets copied to "priority" field). In case packet arrives to router using MPLS switching and is further routed over WMM enabled link (router is egress for LSP), care must be taken so that correct "priority" is assigned to packet:
- LSP egress router must receive packet with label (this implies that explicit null label should be used by penultimate hop) - this will cause packet "ingress priority" to be set to value carried in EXP.
- correct firewall rule that sets "priority" from "ingress priority" must be configured.
