What happened to the RB133

Fri Aug 08, 2008 11:45 pm

I was wondering what happened to the RB133 that had 3 ethernet ports and 3 mini pci. I noticed that the RB133c was listed on routerboard.com however the RB133 wasnt. Is the RB133 gone fpr good ?

thank you

The RB133 is EOL and has been "retired". The RB433 is the replacement, and a lot faster than the 133.

I supose that you could use a 433 to replace a 133...... but, a 411 would be closer equivilent.

The 411 would be an ok replacement if you need only 1 minipci and 1 ethernet.

I agree with the case size conflict. The little extra size means replacement of the board AND case. Adds an extra $45 or so.

But I really like the performance of the new boards. It seems there will be some "collateral damage" in the struggle for performance and price. Just wish it wasn't me.

You didn't say what enclosure you were using but keep in mind that the RB433 is also longer than the RB133.

If size is not important and you are trying to save money, you might be able to find RB192 boards (also EOL) for less money than the RB433.
