What is the best way to limit upload speed ?

Tue Oct 21, 2008 8:35 am

I have a Linux server that controls centrally the bandwidth of each user ... but I'm coding another software that populates a RADIUS database to control BW and get statistics from the MK access points through RADIUS ... but reading the forum I realized that I cannot limit upload speed if the other point is not a MK, that's too bad for me ... Now I'm trying to find another practical way to do that ...

The only way I can think about is through PCQ queues, but for that I would have to set up manually address lists for each different access plan I have ... And I wouldn't be able to use DHCP to give out the addresses ...

If someone has a better idea ... I'd be grateful to read it ...

Thanks in advance,

Just one more question I could not totally (reliably) test it ...

If I specify an TX Max rate, does MK limit the upload speed until TX, or it doesn't cap the upload speed at all ?
Does anybody know if MK plans to make RX rate limit work with every CPE ?

Thanks again,
