VPN instead EOIP

Thu Oct 30, 2008 12:47 pm

Hi!

This is the situation: i need to connect two diferent offices with VPN, so they can use some software that works like in LAN.
Can i use only one mikrotik to be VPN server, so in the other office they connect with windows xp VPN client to the server?
or is it better to use two mikrotik routers, one to be server, other to be client?
Or to use EOIP tunnels, then i surely need to mikrotik routers, what is the best sollution?

Thanks!

Best regards

You may run PPTP server on MikroTik and Windows client will be connecting with PPTP as well.

For the end user, EOIP with two mikrotik routers would be the easiest. This is because the connection would be transparent to the end user, it would be like there in the same room as what there connecting to.
