The Viking uses a Realtek 8139C+ chipset.
If the driver supports that chipset the card will work fine.

Grrrr. This is very good card. I tried it at one seminar. We have lots of problems with classic ethernet adsl routers. I tried lot of them but all of them have some problems.

Can anyone then recommend me good adsl router?

The OS doesn't see the ADSL side of it. The Viking looks and behaves like an ethernet card as far as the OS is concerned.

but I still guess you need drivers for the "ethernet side of it", which RouterOS doesn't have

I managed to get a Viking up and running on RouterOS 3.14.
It was detected as Realtek 8139, so it is supported by the driver.

a Conexant based ADSL2+ Modem/Router on a PCI card.

The config of the Modem/Router Part done via CLI / Telnet..

Does it working good and stable? Do You have any problems with it?

Yes, I got connectivity to ADSL. I used the PPPoE client and set the Viking up in bridge mode.

The Solos multi-port card requires its own Linux driver, which isn't included in MT yet.

I hope that MT will consider implementig support for this card. I have 14 ADLS lines. It would save me space, expenses, configuration...

MikroTik doesn't plan to support any ADSL modems. Try using the mentioned VIKING card, which is supposed to be working

Any news on the adsl2+ (annex-m maybe)?

The links don't work and I would like to test the viking or any other card if they still exist.

The Viking and Solos cards still exist. Currently there are two distributors:

http://www.yawarra.com.au
http://traverse.kd85.com

http://www.traverse.com.au/distributors.php

Annex-M is technically possible on a Viking, but boards from the factory don't have the extra components loaded.
Solos cards come with both Annex-A and Annex-M components loaded.

The ADSL 2+ card which we stock, works with routerboards with a PCI slot.

Its another Realtek ethernet, so appears as an extra NIC.

You can then add a dhcp client to the interface and connect to the web interface of the router on the card.

You can also configure it for pppoe.

It also does Annexe M

See http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=12181

 The ADSL2+ card offered by Linitx sounds like a good alternative for the Viking modem card.

Has anybody tried it, yet? Any further information (manual, linux source code) available? The link referenced by nickshore leads to a sold out product with not much information.

Hi rdratlos (& All)

I can confirm that the "ADSL2+ PCI Card - Single Port ADSL Modem - Annex A"
@ http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=12181 works fine on
one of my ROS x86 based systems in production use.

As suggested, the card shows as a normal Realtek NIC to ROS, so you just
set that port to use teh dhcp-client and thats it.

Nick (from LinITX.com) and a few others hang out over on IRC (#routerboard & #linitx)
on irc://irc.z.je and am sure we can help you get it going if you have any issue.
