PPPoE dificultys

Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:08 pm

Hello, I have a wireless AP on a rb500 board which has a Hotspot and PPPoe server on the same interface using latest version ROS. I want users to be able to login either by PPPoE or Hotspot page. This does work OK but with PPPoe there is a problem:

After the PPPoE connection has been used for a few mins it will stall and no traffic is passed authough it remains connected, You can disconnect and reconnect to gain access again.

This does not happen with Hotspot login and I have tried every combination of config server side.

I can only immagine some kind of routing problem associated with running it on same inerface as hotspot?

Can anyone confirm if that should be OK?

Just to add, I found if you are logged into the MT router when the problem occurs and change a setting MT side on PPPoE the connection comes alive again. That would point to a MT issue?

Strangely yes that seems to work?

Who said that? Was is MT support? And what does this mean?

My guess is a bug with either MT or possibly microsoft? I was testing from an XP laptop?
