I have recently deployed PPPoE on my latest MikroTik (3.x) and have had good success thus far with it.

A RB is acting as the concentrator at a repeater site. The WAN port backhauls to our T3.

In this case, Motorola Canopy AP's and SU's are in between the PPPoE Server Port and the CPE router which initiates the customer session's session.

Docs suggests that there should be no IP on the PPPoE server port. The question this raises is the monitoring by IP and maintenance of equipment in between along the bridge e.g. the the Canopy AP and SU?

Is there a best-practices approach to solving this? Maybe the answer is glaringly obvious!
