BGP Timeout Problem in RC9

Sat Oct 27, 2007 10:50 am

We are seeing the following after upgrading from 2.9.42 to RC9:

03:15:57 route,bgp,error Received notification
03:15:57 route,bgp,error Hold timer expired, subcode=0
03:16:47 route, bgp, info Connection opened by remote host
03:16:47 route,bgp,info RemoteAddress=4.XX.XX.XX

This is our connection to our Internet provider Level 3. BGP session
starts up and stays up until the hold timer of 3 minutes expires.
Then, the session is terminated and the whole process starts
again. Any idea why this is happening?

Sessions to all other Mikrotik routers inside our network are fine.

Supout send to Mikrotik.

Actually, this problem was from an encryption problem- without encryption it works fine.

the same problem for me with 2 RB1000 running 3.13 and trying to do iBGP

when bgp session reach Hold Time + ~3s, session brakes down and in logfile i get following

14:23:39 route,bgp,error HoldTimer expired
14:23:39 route,bgp,error RemoteAddress=a.b.c.d

when i cancel TCP MD5 Key, no problem solves
