Dear Friends,

I am trying to install my PC (which has vista on it with SATA HDD). I downloaded netinstall 3.17 on my laptop connected the PC and the laptop with the one switch and i assigned one IP to my laptop. Enable boot server enabled and assigned client IP address and assigned one IP from the same range. After i changed the BIOS of my computer to boot from Network.

The Vista computer is booting from network and getting the IP assigned in netisntall. After that i cam see the following

Waiting for drivers...
Retrieving drivers...
Loading drivers

Looking for harddrives...

Found harddrive as SATA 1

Creating Partition ......................................................
Formatting disk...
Error: could not format partitions
Press ENTER to reboot

What could be the problem. Awaiting your comments.

In this case I would see any BIOS boot protections. Then I would try a low level format/hdd erase/zerofill/wipe. Connecting the HDD to another PC, installing there and reconnecting it to the one with the problem. And some other stuff.

Tell us how you solved it.

Dear Friends,

I solved this issue by installing this HDD to another PC which has IDE Drives. Converted IDE to SATA and installed the harddisk Installed the software.

But after installation finished successfully my problematic computer was not booting up and later on i changed some settings in the BIOS it started to work and working fine.
