Setting up a mesh network.

Mon Dec 08, 2008 5:10 pm

I understand how to setup static WDS bridges, now I want to take it a step further, I have about 6 APs, half are using omni's the other half are using 90 degree sectors. I'm using ubiquiti's XR9s. Do I just enable STP protocol on the WDS interface and start adding the additional APs to the connection list or is it a bit more involved.

I'm assuming that the antenna's don't have to be a special "MESH" model.

Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to create an RTSP bridge or use the RouterOS mesh interface (HWMP+). I recommend the latter.
