I have AVG running on some servers and it reports that dude.exe has "Trojan horse Generic11.PCJ".

or in other words (in response to original post), yes apparently it's a mis-detection. Many people have reported it, but it is not a virus.

McAfee does not report it as a virus.

Trend does not report it as a virus...

NOD32 v.3 report "probably a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan".

Just for informational purposes:

As of September 3rd, aVast! Home Edition (4.8 build 1229) with VPS 080903-0 (dd September 3rd) is reporting The Dude as a trojan too.

The detection of it states: Sign of "Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}" has been found in "D:\Program Files\TheDude\dude.exe" file.
(sadly enough both the server file as the client file are named dude.exe which is not that handy..)

For now, I've emailed aVast! that they should consider this to be a false positive.
Nevertheless, it might be a good idea for Mikrotik to do some research why on Earth many virusscanners suddenly detect it as a threat, they never did, did they?

Just wondering if there has been any update to the (hopefully) false trojan situation

I've just tried downloading and got notified by my sonicwall anti virus service that the file contains a trojan called Genetik_529

False positive... avast no longer detects.
