What is the difference with "Client Mode" and "AP and Client Mode" on adaptive noise immunity? I switched one of my towers to "AP and Client Mode" and CCQ went way up. Can someone explain what these different settings do?

Client mode: means that Noise Immunity will be activated only when the radio is in client mode (station).
AP and Cliente mode: means that Noise Immunity will be activated in both modes (station and bridge/ap bridge).

Did you get good results with Adaptive Noise Immunity turned on?

Actually on this particular tower it helped immensely. There were some Ubiquiti nanostation CPE's that were getting terrible CCQ (2-8) and Pthroughput was around 80k-200k. After changing to Client and AP ANI then CCQ jumped to (50-60) and Pthroughput was around 20000K. Also clients quit dropping constantly. There is an Emergency Services antenna very close to ours on this water tower. It is running a different frequency, but could still be contributing interference.

well this is interesting... if we turn on ANI on mikrotik AP its changed the things so much...previously i was thinking that if u install a mikrotik AP and connects third party CPE it would not improve. bec i thought the CPE must also be a mikrotik, then only ANI works.but u said u got good results on nano too.

now i m in confusion, i m using few mikrotik boards(2. 4GHZ) and very low cost CPE (TP-link 501G wireless access point in client mode). now if if tun on ANI will it improve the throughput, latency, stabililty.? plzz tell me

I'm pretty sure that ANI is an Atheros chipset feature (in newer chips I believe). And the nano's are based on the newer atheros chips.

Also, this is the only tower it made a really big difference. I've turned it on on other towers and it didn't do much (I'm sure it was because noise wasn't an issue).

I haven't had much luck with API in Client/AP mode. It adds latency and doesn't seem to work that well, makes thing worse if anything. Tried with XR9, SR2, R52, SR9 etc. I would not recommend using it, but in some cases it may work, but normally, I would not use it.

I didn't had problems with ANI here, only benefits. Anyway, I think the best option is to use it only when needed.

it varies a lot, this is a feature to try to avoid interference in polluted sites, it is not always effective, many people think that avoids interference and will apply in many cases it can improve on that in a polluted sites, I've even used it in certain places where tb and customers worked well and also saw does not work elsewhere, then the best option would be to test and see if they will even have some benefits ..
