hotmail and msn messenger

Sat Jan 31, 2009 9:44 am

hi friends
i have two lines to connect to internet line1(good) and line2(bad) from which our users connect to the internet.
i have problem with line2 browsing hotmail and msn messenger, other sites are okay.
now i want my users to connect to hotmail and msn using line1(good). only the connection to hotmail and msn must go through line1(good) excluding this all other connection to internet must go through line2(bad).
i suppose i can achieve this by srcNAT. But how to NAT the ip of hotmail there are so many ip of hotmail server and how about msn messenger should i go for the port 1863.
Please throw me some light..
p.s. i don't want step by step guide.
Just a working clue will be appreciated.
Thankyou

MSN etc does not work at all over the bad line? What's so bad about it anyway? Hotmail browsing can be (somewhat)fixed over the bad line, with transparent web proxy, QoS and if it does not load at all - with mss settings.

so do you mean that hotmail not opening issue can be fixed using web proxy with mss
but sending msnmessenger to good line is impossible.
Thankyou very much

Well not impossible but since MSN messenger uses different ports for different tasks, and there have been reports of it not working correctly when separating certain ports to go over a different Internet line, it is not usable.

Do you want to try and fix it now?
Does Hotmail web sites load? If not - MSS settings must be applied.

sanjeev, you should take line2(bad) directly your pc testing first can open msn and hotmail or not?

mikrotik:

/ip proxy access
add action=deny comment="block telnet & spam e-mail relaying" disabled=yes dst-port=23-25

Before you start to do your load balancing, you should implement this: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 38#p141838 and then you should be aware of this: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27781
