WDS Disconnects w/rc5 + RB530

Thu Jun 16, 2005 8:45 pm

I put up a new RB with RC5 on it to link back to an existing tower (RB230 2.8.27).

I've tried everything and cannot get this to stay connected. Signal is good on both ends (-71/-74). If I use a Tranzeo CPE from the same location with a smaller antenna I can get a very stable connection. There does not appear to be an RF issue at either end.

On the tower side (2.8.27) the connection always shows as up and connect time is as would be expected (over an hour).

On the other side (RC5) the connection comes up for a few seconds and then drops. Does this continually and is appears very methodical. If I ping it, I get 16 timeouts, then 4 replys, 16 timeouts, then 4 replies.

Tried connecting to a different tower and see the same problem. Tried upgrading the tower side to RC5 and still see the same problem.

I've dispatched someone to take a RB230 over there and replace the troubled unit. But it looks to me like there may very well be an issue with the RB or RC5.

What wireless configuration you have in your routers?
Email to support@mikrotik.com with both support output files.
