traceroute icmp and pings

Tue Mar 31, 2009 10:29 am

Hi Guys

I have a strange problem

we have a 3mb fiber link to our ISP, im using a 450 connected to it.

Its been fine all along since I've upgraded from 3.17 to 3.22 , also using routing-test and mpls-test packages

the pings is fine

ping x.x.19.114 count=3
x.x.19.114 64 byte ping: ttl=63 time=5 ms
x.x.19.114 64 byte ping: ttl=63 time=1 ms
x.x.19.114 64 byte ping: ttl=63 time=3 ms

but now when i do tracroute, icmp or udp the results is way diffrent

tool traceroute x.x.19.114
ADDRESS STATUS
1 x.x.19.113 171ms 4ms 100ms
2 x.x.19.114 1ms 1ms 1ms

what can cause this problem?, is this from ISP side, i will log a request anyway, just strange it happened same time i upgraded the board :-)

Any advice appreicated

Thanks

S

is x.x.19.113 a device between you and x.x.19.114?

Where is x.x.19.113 and x.x.19.114? Inside your network or inside someone else's?
