If you want, you can always boot from a USB thumb drive or USB DOM (internal headder connection)
Use netinstall to install ROS on the USB drive..
The format the internal SATA drive and use it for proxy, ect...
Works for me on a Proliant M310 G5. Yum !!!
Ty for your proposition,
BUT
if the router (x86 -mini-itx box ) is almost on top of very high tower , it is not so easy to go -climb -put a usb and do all
the appropriate actions . In my humble opinion ,
i believe that from a commercial router software , the user must have always the ability to upgrade without problems , For months the software upgrade is impossible for me , and as i mentioned before , the router is not in a place with convenient access .
I believe as i wrote to my previous post , that sata/ahci support "disappeared" from router os 3.14 and up
I reported the problem to mikrotik support and they told me that the problem is specific to my hardware
As you can see from this thread the problem exists with other configurations also
I hope this time that mikrotik support will see the problem more thoroughly
Thank you in advance for any assistance
