SRC-NAT for dynamic IP's PPPoE

Tue Apr 21, 2009 11:09 am

Hey Guys

I need some advise please.

My internet connections are via PPPoE. I have a masqurede rule. I have dest-nat rules to allow incoming connections to my services. One service however displays connected clients, and it show all clients coming from the same ip (The Mikrotik). I need these ip address to be of the client.

So if i disable masqurade for that service, that service can no longer make connections to the internet, as there is no src-nat rule. But i cant make a scr-nat rule because whenever the pppoe makes a new internet connection, it is assigned a new IP address. (External) I have setup a src-nat rule with the current external IP address of the PPPoE connection and it works great.

So the question is, how to src-nat to a dynamic IP?

Please help

use masquerade instead of src-nat. just specify outgoing interface.

Thanks changeip

That is working great, i have not got 2 masquerade rules, one for everything, and the other for the specific ip.

Thanks
