MT APs in MOTO GP 2005 Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway

4 multiple radios AP powered by Mikrotik were the main wireless connectivity for hundreds of wifi users, press media, vendors, and teams.
3 special design Mikrotik APs were installed outdoor to cover paddock area and vendors area. To prevent mix network between b and g, the AP has 2 radio, 802.11b only and 802.11g only, which simultaneously send the signal through the same dual polarized array antenna within the same channel frequency. Each AP covers approximately 120 degree beamwidth.

When I monitored the APs, each one had about 150 active users connected. This customed MT AP were tested with 65 mw client card in multidwelling environment (non-los) and still capable to deliver about 512kb TCP throughput at range about 500 feet. We don't use any amplifier to boost the power, so we still stay on FCC regulation.

Sweet! I wish I could've made it down to Laguna Seca, but it sold out quick, guess I'll have to plan for next year.

That sounds a **nice** solution to b/g clients.

What dual-pol sector antennas were you using?
Were all 3 antennas co-located?
What frequency plan, to avoid self-interference?

Two radios in each AP run on the same frequency channel. 3 AP were deployed and each one run on different channel (1,6,11). The other ap for indoor in The media tend.

We use 3 sector antennas, 2 vertical and 1 horizontal. We design and make the horizontal pol antenna. So 2 radio signal run onto 3 sector antennas simultaneously without interfering each other.
The design looks like MIMO, using 2 transmitter and 2 receiver. unlikely, mimo using the same mac baseband and all integrated into one.

Do you think it will create some problem if I have 2 mac address in one bridge?

yes.
In the result, the signal is even stronger on both radio. I used 2 different power radio.
The secret is we add some rf component or device after radio to seperate the signal within the same antenna. It is not a diplexer, anyway, diplexer is for 2 different frequency channel and the price is so expensive.
Actually the rf front end we used is being used for cellular application.
We plan to sell the rf front-end or called hybrid combiner about $400 each.
