Channel Bonding !!!!!

Tue Apr 07, 2009 4:28 pm

Hello guys. I am new on mikrotik and I am using MT v2.9, Router OS.

My question is :

Can I bond two ethernet Cards? I take two ADSL 2+ lines from the same ISP, and they are not using mt but busybox.

If yes what kind of configuration can I use ?

Regards!

if the ISP supports it, you could use MLPPP:

http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 9&p=150448&

RouterOS MLPPP

There is now Multilink PPP support in PPPoE client,
starting with v3.10.
PPPoE client “interface” property has been changed to
“interfaces”, and new property in status (monitor) has
been added - “active-links”.
Active-links shows how many links are active
(bundled together). To enable Multilink PPP, simply
specify multiple interfaces in “interfaces”
property, it will bundle them together, if PPPoE server
allows that.

thnx for your reply, but don't forget that my ISP is not using mikrotik, but busybox.
And I am using an ADSL 2+ Router, so i have a fied IP out from router, and I am using router for both lines.
So my question is if i can bond my two interfaces with fixed IP.

I saw some wiki's but no results from them. Or if I can merge the lines in another way, just tell me.

Thnx.

for mlppp you don't need mikrotik on the ISP side, just ask them if they support mlppp

@Inox
Can I access both gateways to get the speed speed from both lines with load balancing?
If yes, what tutorial do I have to follow ?

@normis
Yes my isp support MlPPP, but I am using a fixed IP from router!

Sorry for my stupid questions, but I am totally new in mt :(

My ISP supports MLPPP. I've never used a Mikrotik before, but it was recommended to me as an alternative to a Cisco. I got an RB493H and downloaded winbox. I've added a PPPoE client named pppoe-out1 and filled in all of the information. It says I have 2 active links. So why can't I plug my PC into ether1 and surf the internet? What else do I need to do?

probably configure the rest of stuff, like give your local network IP addresses, configure routing or add masquerade SRCNAT rules ...
