we still have a few AP on 2.4G.
as much as possible we try to upgrade clients on 5G.
as the numbers on 2.4 decreasses down to null we have the choice to reuse the existing 2.4G kit or remove it.

My query is:
will hotspots be supported on wirtual APs created on the existing used 2.4G APs?
will it work?

we are going to test it anyway but I kinda want a second opinion

Yes, HotSpot should work on Virtual AP without any problems.
