I have Bought a RouterBoard 450G with RouterOs level4 version 3.11 .

I configured Hotspot+Usermanager on it and and everything seemed Ok.

i saw that mikrotik RouterOs 3.25 (Stable Version) was released and i decided to upgrade the routerOs to version 3.25.

unfortunately there are 2 big problems in version 3.25:

1- as u configure Usermanager in version 3.25 the CPU Usage goes up from 50% to above 90% and the hotspot gets DOWN within less than 5 hours and even the hotspot login page will not be available on hotspot users.

1- because of that problem i want to change back to the previous version of mikrotik but unfortunately i cant do this by any way .
as u click on Downgrade button and the routeros restarts , i see that no change was made on routeros and the version 3.25 is still on routerboard.

I really dont know what to do .

Have you copied a valid ROS file into the files directory before you downgrade?

BTW There is no RouterBoard 455. Are you sure it is not an RB450?

I have downloaded the complete package directly from mikrotik.com

so what is in /log print ? it's the most informative thing

You will not be able to install older versions of RouterOS on RB450G. Older versions simply doesn't have support for this new board.

what's with 3.13?

What's new in 3.22:
*) added advanced switch features for RB450G;

So, don't downgrade just for this alone. A lot of stuff was added for RB450G in later versions, if you want it to work correctly, use a recent version.

but as i bought the routerboard the 3.11 version was installed on it by default.

i wanna return back the to 3.11 , i hate 3.25...

Where did you buy a 450G with 3.11?? That OS is almost a year old the 450G was announced in February of this year (released and shipping much after that.) . Are you sure it is a 450G and not just a 450? Also if you look at http://tikdude.com/wp-content/uploads/2 ... n-2008.png It should tell you alot.... I would not run anything before 3.20 at worst case.

OK , but the problem is only with the LATEST VERSION (VERSION 3.25) that's why i wanna downgrade to a lower version.

if you will email support, they will help you solve the problem. this is the logic that should be followed always. downgrade without notifying support will not get your problem solved, and will bring back problems of older versions. you would be forced to stay on the old version, because support will not know about your problem, and nobody would fix it.

I have explained my problem with version 3.25 in the first post.

and the support of mikrotik reseller said that that's a bug in version 3.25 and does not have any solution to resolveit.

and the solution is : IF YOU WANNA DOWNGRADE VERSION 3.25 THE ONLY WAY IS TO FIRST UPGRADE TO VERSION 4 AND THEN DOWNGARDE TO ANY VERSION .

THAT'S THE PRACTICAL SOLTION WHICH WORKED FOR ME !!!

I have similar woes with 3.25 - it just keeps restarting every 30minutes or so.

Did you loose any setup info going from 3.25 to 4 - back to 3.24(i assume) ?
EG - did it connect up - no loss of interface addresses etc ?
