I have 2 x mikrotiks RG493AH configured with VRRP connected to a switch with 2 vlans, and 2 Microsoft machines. The mikrotiks serves as a firewall between the 2 vlans. I set the gateway of each windows machine as the VRRP ip. I tested VRRP, and the switchover seems to happen, but sometimes, even without a switchover, packets die and I have to issue an arp -d * on each windows machine to get it to work again.

If I set the gateway to an non-vrrp IP, packets never fail. With the VRRP ip as a gatewy I seem to have a problem every 10 minutes or so if I have data passing. With no data or little data it works OK

Any idea why this happens? And what is the solution?
