Winbox problems...

Sun Aug 02, 2009 5:50 am

Winbox has recently changed the way it loads addresses into the "connect to" field for some reason. I used to be able to specifically click on the routers IP address in the search box. Now, no matter where I click, it populates the "connect to" with the mac address, and if I need to use the IP address, I have to manually type it in.

I tried deleting the winbox.cfg in application data, but that did not help. I have tried several different versions of winbox, still nothing. What could be going on?

I use 2.2.14. I don't think there's been any change.
It works fine on windows (as it always has!), but on my Ubuntu 9.04 installation with wine, it always automatically selects mac-address to connect to. I can only connect with ip if i type it in manually.

So it may have something to do with my latest upgrade of Crossover Office, I'll have to check that out

I let this sit in hopes it would be cleared up with another update, but...

Is there anyone that could look at this? I have 50 routers and typing the ip each time sucks! Normis, I could send you a copy of crossover for you to test it with? Just let me know.

click the IP address in the drop down instead of the name or mac address. Even though there arent any visible boundaries on each line it will place the data into the form field depending on whast you click on.

Save your routers IP address with a given name in winbox. This way no need to open the ´search´ box but just click on the unit you need.... even for routers many hops away....
