IP Route Table Failed After 3.28 Upgrade on RB433AH

Mon Aug 10, 2009 11:45 pm

After 3.28 upgrade from 3.25 on RB433AH I have a problem:

[user@MikroTik] > ip route print
Flags: X - disabled, A - active, D - dynamic, C - connect, S - static, r - rip, b - bgp, o - ospf, m - mme,
B - blackhole, U - unreachable, P - prohibit
# DST-ADDRESS PREF-SRC GATEWAY-STATE GATEWAY DISTANCE INTERFACE
error - contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (2)

Because of there is no default gateway it is impossible to reach the device from another subnet.
Is there any solution besides reinstall?

at first, try to make a supout.rif

do you use 'routing' or 'routing-test' package?

Already done. Support asked me to try 'routing-test' package. I've switched to routing-test and it resolved my issue.

Before this issue I always used 'routing' package. What's the difference between them? And why I needed to switch only on this RB?

BTW, is it true that inside supout.rif is sensitive information like username and passwords?

'-test' is new features, bugfixes, it's under active development. 'routing' is critical bugfixes only.

So it's a bit strange why in my case (quite simple as I think) stable 'routing' package was broken.

Thank you, Chupaka, for your help.

I'm not sure why exactly on your router routing package is not working. It works for me.

It works for me on my other about 20 routerboards (mostly RB433AH). Recently I've done firmware upgrade from 3.22-3.27 to 3.28 on them. Only three of them failed.

One RB333 (nstreme dual + bridge) after reboot disabled some interfaces. So I have to go connect through ethernet directly and restore configuration.

Another RB433AH (station WDS + bridge) was broken and kernel won't start. Full reinstall of 3.28 and last configuration restore helped.

Third one (AP WDS + bridge) was upgraded successfully, but (stable/legacy) 'routing' package was broken. Switching to 'routing-test' helped.

Before 3.28 version my .npk upgrades processed more smoothly. Now I'll be more prudent with these updates. :)
