Hi guys,
I'm so excited with vPro to see if we can use it in Mikrotik platforms to
remotely control the Pc-based routers, this vPro is one cool thing for us
because it has chips and firmware at hardware level that can turn on or
even let you know if your routeros has gave such stupid message:
and cannot run the network services... I hope routeros will also interact
with it in near future to send message to server like dude from mikrotik
to let the server know that operating system is failing... I think the intel
fellas has developed something for windows or perhaps linux.
but since Mikrotik is scrictly a confidential area that does not have API
and SDK package ready it is not possible for us to this...
if you can get hand on Intel vPro mainboard which first one is :
BOXDQ965GFEKR that supports vPro. just install RouterOS and let us know if it really works
in fact I am thinking about changing my whole PC-based network into
something like this.. and even if mikrotik does not stop being so close
I want to move out to something open source to allow flexibility.
