How to Block unauthorized users on wlan

Tue Oct 20, 2009 9:08 am

Dear all,

How do i stop unauthorized people to try making an attempt to connect to wlan.

I have already set unchecked default forward and default authenticate.
These days I am getting a lot of people who are trying to connect. (as seen in the attached screenshot).

How do I stop such attempts.

My configurations are as under

[admin@DIN1] > interface wireless print
Flags: X - disabled, R - running
0 R name="wlan1" mtu=1500 mac-address=00:0C:42:39:7E:D1 arp=enabled interface-type=Atheros AR5413 mode=ap-bridge ssid="*SWIFTNET" frequency=2412 band=2.4ghz-b scan-list=default antenna-mode=ant-a wds-mode=disabled wds-default-bridge=none wds-ignore-ssid=no default-authentication=no default-forwarding=no default-ap-tx-limit=0 default-client-tx-limit=0 hide-ssid=no security-profile=default compression=no

There's no harm in them trying!
You can hide your ssid - and be sure to specify it in any client you want connected.
/interface wireless set wlan1 hide-ssid=yes
