Routing in PPTP client

Thu Oct 22, 2009 5:34 pm

Hello SPecialists

I need to set up a route in a VPN user. I am using PPTP in RouterOS v4.
I mean, when remote user is connected to the VPN, this should only uses the VPN service for 10.0.0.0/8 network. Any other IP (public or private) should be routed by his regular internet connection and not through the pptp service.

Such client must watch a Survillance server (through VPN) at the same time he is browsing on the Internet (through his own internet connection).
I think there should be a way to set up routes in the client machine using the pptp connection procedure.
If there is any other way, I would like to know about.
Thank you very much.

I saw it only in Cisco VPN Client... seems like you should (in Windows?) uncheck 'Use default gateway' in PPTP connection properties, and then manually add static route to 10.0.0.0/8 via your VPN gateway
