Will changing WWW Service Port affect Hotspot?

Fri Nov 06, 2009 7:55 pm

Hi all,

Will changing the WWW Service port affect Hotspot users?

I want to remotely view graphs and need to change the WWW Service port to 81 because my WISP uses port 80 for CPE admin.

I have hotspot users online right now, and I don't want to "experiment" and disrupt their service. :)

Since the Hotspot "serves" up the captive portal pages, I'm guessing that it uses the internal web server whose port is now configured to 80 in /IP services.

Please help. I really need access to the historical trends!

Thanks!

No, it does not.

http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2.9/ip/hotspot.php
"Customizing HotSpot: Firewall Section" outlines the ports used for servlets.

Thanks fewi! Your time and assistance is greatly appreciated.

I just re-read the docs section that you posted... understood about half of it. :)

But now I understand better what the following means:
Redirect all HTTP login requests to the HTTP login servlet. The 64873 is HotSpot HTTP servlet port.
Have a great day.
