RB600 and 2XR5 60Mb Test

Fri Oct 30, 2009 1:57 pm

Good day,

I have RB600 on Dual Polarty Anntena V/H 32db Parabolic LMR400 Cable, im use it for point to point 2Km configuration

BOX1 DUALNSTREMME
WLAN1 - TX Turbo 5800Mhz
WLAN2 -RX Turbo 5200Mhz
48V 1.5A POE 10 Meter SFTP cable Giga Bit switch link read 100

BOX2 DUALNSTREMME
WLAN1 - TX Turbo 5200Mhz
WLAN2 -RX Turbo 5800Mhz
48V 1.5A POE 60 Meter SFTP cable Giga Bit switch link read 100

and attached the testing use with BOX1
RB433 with
WLAN1 TX XR5
WLAN2 RX RB52 65mw
24V1A POE cable 1 meter

and my problem its it with BOX2 i mimimize the Cable into 30m and Upgrade Firmware into 2.20 and OS 3.30
and still reboot i did test with 3 another RB600 and change the POE to 48V with High current 5A.

I disable watchgog , the router not reboot again but board work for 2 min then i have link on ethernet and there is no data through it.

i put it on ground and attached the 48V direct into J901 , and use 5 meter cable i have the link 1000 on hub and i change CPU Speed and CPU performance from BIOS of RB600the router work for 24h without any reboot or freez on small cable.

my quisition
1- Why when i use POE the ethernet switch into 10/100 not gigabit
2- For Dual NSTREME can i use 65mW for RX only or better use XR-5 or RB52H
3- what is maximum cable lenth , i have another link use same POE and cable its run over 120 meter!!!

Thanks

1.- The switch isn't gigabit. It's the same use the poe or not. Or RB is fixed to 100 MB.

2.- With this 32 dBi antenna and this 65 mW you can make links of XXXXXXXX KM. for 2 KM link you can use 19dBi-23dBi and 65mW without problems.

3.- Standard is max is 100 meters with data. If only used for POE you can use more distance.

Thnaks for replay,

1- the R600A put o auto auth for ether1 , im use smal two cable 1 m conected into RB600 - POE - HUB , the connection read 100Mb , use same cables alos i try 568-A or 568-B color code of cable , the issue come when i connect the POE.
2-Sorry i forgert the zero its 20Km not 2

Thanks

With 32 dBi and 65mW you can connect this without problems, but use a XR5 or a R5H to have more power if you have problems with the link.

Which PoE is?

POE standard is only 75m i think.. Routerboards operate on such a wide range of voltage though you can get away with long lengths of cable in most cases.

Cheers

have you tried CAT6 FTP or STP cable?
what kind of ethernet pigtails do you have? When using MKTK you have all kind of CAT connectors, and connections, are you sure all of them support gigabit?
why do you need gigabit if you can't transport more than 100M anyway?

Steven

PS - i like your pings :)

i solve it by
1- I upgrade the RB600 BIOS
2- set the CPU Speed to 400Mhz not 688Mhz
3- Put the Power Direct on J1 of board and now im use 70M SFTP cable and link stable.
