Several questions need to concern

Wed Nov 11, 2009 4:26 pm

Question one: Version4.02 can't import script to Layer7-protocol.
The topic I posted few weeks before(http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36223),now I have confirmed that version4.02 really can't import the Layer7.rsc script, the key point consists in command "find".Now I import the same script Layer7.rsc in version3.6,pretty smoothly.

Question two:(mark-connection.jpg) Why "mark-connection" to mac address can't work in prerouting of mangle? You can see the "Bytes" and "Packets" is zero in high-light row.

Question three:(frame.jpg) Why my workstations' Ip address don't show in the lower half of the logon frame ?

Question four:(passthrough.jpg) Why in the column "passthrough", the parameter of "passthrough" only show "yes" when mangle's action is "mark-packet", don't show when mangle's action is "mark-connection" and "mark-routing"? You can see the highlight row which number is 2,it's action is "mark-connection",and the "passthrough" is selected, but in highlight row "passthrough" column show nothing. Is it intentionally?

next time, please, do not answer several questions in one topic :?

answer two: all is working for me

answer three: press 'save' button

answer four: yes, seems like a bug

1. May I ask the reason that you "do not answer more than one question in one topic"?
2.What is meaning of answer two? Please go into details.
3.Don't you think question one is a bug? I have raised question one for several times, but seems no a explicit answer every time.

1. it's hard to answer many questions in a heap. please create one topic per question - it's much easier to concentrate on the problem, and you are sure that nothing will be missed
2. I added "mark-connection" with 'src-mac-address' in prerouting chain of mangle. all is working for me - counters increase
3. where can we get that Layer7.rsc?

Thank for your warmhearted reply.
1. Which version you used "mark-connection" work? I personally consider that every version is different. Would you like to post the picture of your "mark-connection" setting to let me consult?
2. The Layer7 protocol script which I uploaded please import with version4.02.

Would you like to import with v4.02 for me? I just only have v4.02, and I really want to know whether it is the bug of v4.02 or whether I have done it wrong in somewhere.thanks.

I see it in "fire-wall", "Layer7-protocols", only one entry can be imported, then reported "already have....",but there is nothing but one entry show in "fire-wall"---->"Layer7 protocols".

I have done it according your guidance, but nothing change as before.see the following picture.
Is it arose by hardware? When I installed , nothing wrong hint shown. But I did't install the "XEN" package. Does it matter?

Upgrade to proper 4.2 instead of the 4.0 beta 1 a screenshot in your other thread shows you running. The behavior you're seeing could be due to you using a beta.

about what hardware you are using: RouterOS works on several very different architectures, even endianess is not the same between them. So there can be difference if you are running on x86 or on ppc RouterBOARD.
