Problems RB433 UAH

Thu Nov 26, 2009 6:32 pm

Hi Everyone,

I Set RB433 with two engenius 8602 and 8603 both in 2.4ghz, 3 sectorial antennas 17 dbi 120°, I have full signal but when a client connect it takes more than 5 minutes to get an IP address and in most cases did not take anything. finally when it get connected it have 1 mbps o 2 mbps no more than that. I'm wondering what is wrong with that. "I'm not a mikrotik Expert".

I guess that problem with IP address getting is related to bad signal. You have to improve wireless connection and make it more stable, make sure you have connected antenna to wireless interface by main port, make sure antennas are positioned well, client device should have appropriate antenna as well for stable wireless connection.

If you are getting a good signal like you said, I'd consider taking the box apart and build from the beginning, start with just 1 radio and one sector. If you get a great signal from one sector only and network speed is fast then build it up slowly, one change at a time. Obviously that only helps if your box is easily accessible.

Thanks for your advice, the antenna is 72 feet high, I will take down to test one at the time.

Rather than take them down, you could just disable the radios and bring them up one at a time. See if one radio is causing interference. What frequency are you using on each radio?
