Here is the description of my problem , iam running mikrotik 4.1v and i would like to add the secondary HDD and want to enable trasperent proxy i know how to config and all , But my problem is i think the router is not detecting the SATA2 because its not showing highleted option in ip>webproxy>webproxy setup

My router is ruuning on SATA1 and its always showing only SATA 1 So, please help me in adding secondary HDD which is NTFS formatted (i hope mikrotik should format with its file system when attached) Procedure

It doesn't make sense to implement that with a Hotspot. You already have masquerading in place if the Hotspot is running, and you're already queueing with Simple Queues because that's how the Hotspot feature works.

Re: Mikrotik Web Proxy on seond HDD help

ok, i will explain clearly iam having 500 lan internet customer under my MIkrotik server which is running v4.1

My aim is to serve the webpages which are in the chache @ max possible speed supported by my ethernet card and MISS traffic should be restricted as per my specification iam presently running hotspot service on the router u said tht it doest make sense

So iam ready to shut down the hotspot service and reconfigure again with the http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Queue_wit ... _Web-Proxy

is this work fine ?
and also why iam running hotspot service is for the only requirement is the hosts tab it will show the mac and ips of the new clients and i can easly copy the MAC addresses of them and paste it in ARP entries (because iam using ARP- Replyonly) if there is other option which i can get the mac and ip of the clients which are connected to my network i will imeediatly shutdown the hotspot and will use normal masquerade rule and above webproxy

Please advice Fewi, i would be thankfull if u can provide the nice solution for it

Thanks,
Sathish
