If your looking to match p2p packets MT already has done this for quite some time. What other uses do you see for it?

what do you mean, the whole page talks about QoS ... if you were looking for something else, please define what You mean by QoS

1. Classify packets as HTTP, FTP, etc., regardless of port
2. Mangle
3. Queues

I know what you mean - you want more classifiers by content, like the P2P classifiers in MikroTik.
But the question is how important is it to be able to classify HTTP traffic running on non-standard ports?
This mostly will be special web applications which could be better classified by other means?!

you can do something if you know the packet content. you can use packet content in mangle

I second that motion to add the L7 packet classifier code. This functionality would seriously enhance the Mikrotik platform for businesses and ISP's.

I also vote for content filtering. That missing feauture had strong infulence on my clients decision to use something else and not MT in several occasions.
