Hotspot and IPs

Tue Sep 06, 2005 6:29 pm

I have looked over much of the manual and I think maybe I have missed this solution but here is my issue. I have a network that consists of a 192.168.123.0/24 network on the internal. I would like to set up network that is only for the hotspot such as 192.168.1.0/24. When I do this this works just fine and dandy but I would like the internal network of 192.168.123.0/24 to never be challenged for a password. Is this possible? I thought this was possible with 2.8. But now that I.m on the 2.9 I am havinga bit of a problem making this work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

-Sincerely,

it feel it should be possible...if you add another network card to the router which is specifically meant for HS.

I beleive in 2.9 you can use IP binding to accomplish never being challenged for a password or username.

Well actually I thought IP binding binds a username to a particular IP address.

the ip bindings will work if you know the ip and mac address of every machine. try using the walled-garden ip list

Hi,

The mikrotik 2.9 Document Hotspot Gateway section
(http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.9/ip/hotspot )
have some tricks for it.

You can find solution at ip-binding subject.
For example;
/ip hotspot ip-binding address 192.168.223.0/24 to-address xx.xx.xx.xx type
bypassed
