RB 112 Running 4.3 Unable to Reboot

Mon Dec 21, 2009 5:50 pm

I am running 4.3 on a RB 112. I cannot reboot it.

Winbox will let me log in, I can watch traffic rates change, Torch does not work, System Resources all show 0:00:00, 0%Cpu, Seems as if its not updating that.

Wierdest part, says 4294.9GB of 4294.9GB used. Shown at the bottom of the File List window.

I was trying to upgrade it to 4.4, I copied the 4.4 Combined package and it shows up in the list, BUT I cant reboot it via system reboot in winbox.

Telnet to device will allow me to log in, and show MikroTik Logo, but no admin@boardname>

Webbox will allow me to log in, go to the upgrade screen, file listed in available files for update, click on UPGRADE, and it says that it is rebooting, but does not actually reboot.

Why I don't just unplug it you ask? ITS TOO FAR AWAY!!!, its across the city.

Should I not run 4.x on a RB 112? I use this board for a simple WDS connection for my brothers shop, very little usage on it, less then 5 gigs per month, actually probably less then 3 gigs.

Thanks for any insight...

IMHO it is crazy to run anything later than 2.9.51 on legacy products like the 112, 133, 133c, etc.

Well, call me crazy, but I did install 4.4 on a RB112 just to see what happens, and it's running just fine!

BTW, what I meant to say with the attached print screen is:

They have very little memory, so be sure to disable all unnesesary packages, also, be sure to upgrade your firmware, sys rou up should do it.

Bye and good luck,

Jorge

It took a couple of days for my brother to remember to power cycle the RB112, but when he did it has connected via wireless, and has had no problems since then. It is being used as a CPE type with low usage, so performance wasn't an issue, but I still get 12 Mb/s TCP and I think 24 UDP so It is as fast as it was before even under 2.9.51

It was a wierd issue, but I was glad to see the RB 112 have 4+ Gigs of memory... until it was finnaly rebooted.. :-(
