Hi, i am currently planning on using routerboard as my outdoor AP. Because this is the first time i try to use routerboard as AP, i wish to know about the performance of rb 500. How many wireless clients could it support without degrading the performance?

I am using other outdoor AP now, but it could only support 2 wlan clients (online gaming cafe, with approx.20-30 clients behind 1 wlan). Could routerboard support more than that? Or do i need to restrict the wlan client speed on it's device?

I'm not 100% sure about everything that you are asking, BUT i do know that it is always better to restrict bandwidth at the client to keep all the extra traffic off of your network. Wireless networks can be VERY troublesome with lots of unneeded traffic flowing on the network. Restricting bandwidth at the client side would be good for the gaming cafe. Wireless isnt all that great for gaming ( i speak with MUCH experience ) but if there are not a million connections open on the network everything should run smoothly.

also, the routerboard itself doesnt have a very powerful CPU and having lots of traffic/connections run through the board can overload it very easily and cause network slowdown.
