Traffic-Flow on ROS v4.5

Sun Feb 21, 2010 12:18 pm

Is anyone else having problems with Traffic-Flow in RouterOS v4.5? I'm trying to enable it on a pair of RB433AH routers with "/ip traffic-flow set enabled=yes" and after a long time of waiting, I get the following error message:
action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13)
I've done as it suggests and sent a supout file to support, but I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem?

I'm not using that feature right now, but maybe there's a rule blocking netflow traffic from Mikrotik to your collector...

No such luck, there are no filters on either of the two devices. The traffic-flow service itself won't turn on, let alone export any flows.
It seems to have Mikrotik support stumped too as they have taken to randomly restarting and upgrading the firmware on the router :(

Yeah, my thoughts exactly after I explicitly told them when I gave them access to the router that it is in a production environment (albeit the secondary node in a VRRP pair) and not to do anything potentially service affecting.

I won't even go into them trying to load a PPC copy of RouterOS onto a MIPS-BE board and then failing to notice that it hadn't upgraded anything...

Really not impressed with Mikrotik support at the moment to say the least.

After doing a planned out of hours upgrade on the routers in question, traffic-flow now enables fine.
Now to work out why I'm only seeing flows in one direction...

check 'Interfaces' in Traffic Flow settings. it should be 'all' =)

Cheers :) managed to get it working the other day through a bit of fiddling and knowledge or how to do it on Cisco gear ;)
