how do i set diffrent BW for users between day and night

Sat Mar 13, 2010 12:55 pm

Hi all

i have two networks with to RBs first is RB1000 and the other is RB800 , with the RB1000 i have set Hot spot and the RB800 pppoe .

i need to give customers in both networks free download with out any limit out of the rush hours .. for example :

from 08:00 am to 11:00 pm they will have limited BW like 40 kbps uplink / 100 kbps downlink
from 11:00 pm to next day 08:00 am they will have free download and upload .

i have read in the weki some examples but when i applying it its not give good results so can any one post the right config for both hotspot and ppoe here ,

Any post is highly appreciated

Thanks

One simple option:

PPPoE and Hotspot both use simple queues to limit users. Simple queues are overridden by queue trees attached to global-in and global-out.

Between 11pm and midnight and midnight and 8am mark all packets as 'unlimited' by mangling them in the prerouting chain, and add queue trees for that packet mark with a queue type of ethernet-default.
