quotas on traffic

Sun Mar 28, 2010 4:33 pm

Hello to all! :-)

How I can make quotas on users(range or list) in my LAN to prevent them download (upload) some quantity of traffic dayly(monthly etc)? If you can, give me some details, please...

Thanks in advance,
Konstantin.

No other ways rather than userman? Using only RouterOS?
Because I limit speed already and using other tools looks slightly not convinient...

I don't need in HOTSPOT; my clients are in my LAN, using DHCP.

userman is RouterOS package, it runs on the same machine

anyway you will need some authorization (at least Hotspot in 'MAC' mode) for accounting. DHCP do not have accounting functions

May I ask you to give me more details? I'm not esp experienced in RouterOS. Some steps would be perfect.
Excuse me for such request...

And what should I do with my DHCP if I made a hotspot server?

Ok, thanks a lot to Chupaka, I've done it :-)
But another qst: my hotspot user have "Limit Bytes In" and "Limit Bytes Out". After user reached limits he logged off. But how I can reset counters on the next day, for example?

as I answered by ICQ (maybe it will help somebody else):
/ip hotspot user reset-counters user1
or
/ip hotspot user reset-counters [find profile="foobar"]
:)
