802.11i / WPA2

Tue Aug 09, 2005 6:25 pm

I see version 2.9 has WPA-PSK. Is there a planned implementation of 802.11i (WPA2) anytime soon?

We have a significant number of installations that will require this and we really would like to keep using MT rather than switching to Cisco, etc.

Regards,

Brian

Currently we support only WPA. We are researching 802.11i and WPA2.

WPA2 is not so much different from WPA, so you should not get too excited. but we will have it in one of the upcoming versions.

Do you plan to integrate also WPA with Radius-Authentication (WPA-Enterprise).

Any update on this?

I really need WPA2 (personal, not enterprise mode) support for my network, which im planning on using a bunch of RB 532's to set up.

Ehm, WPA2 (PSK) with TKIP and/or AES-CCM is available for quite some time now... What exactly do you miss?

Best regards,

perhaps it's time to update the 2.9 spec sheet at http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.9/guide/specs

i simply googled for 'routerOS wpa2' and the only things i found were old documents saying it wasnt in there yet...

good to know it's been added :)
