Problem with WLAN, Users can see others Network Shares

Wed Oct 05, 2005 4:39 pm

Hey,

i have little Prob with our town lan.

I use 11 MT's and make PPPoE with our Radius Server.

The clients logging in with an Linksys Router in Client Bridge and make a PPPoE over Windows.

Now the Problem that i have is that user that have Shares on the home-lan
can see other peoble on the same AP in his Home-Network. the Speed from the WLAN goes down and some PPPoE logins doesn't work.

the MT AP's a configured with EoIP Tunnel in a bridge with the WLAN Interfaces 2 + 3 (totally 4 interfaces, 2 5GHz, 2 2,4 GHz for clients)

Anyone know how to block this??

sry for my bad english.

You will need to use the firewall to block port 139 (I think) MS net bios, be careful and use safe mode in case you lock yourself out!

it seems that it not works.

I want to block all access from private IP's over the AP.
I can ping from one client to another and show/use the Network
Share. Bad is that the WLAN speed goes down and the pppoe login fails very often.

Have you tried setting "default forward = off" ?
I am taking a stab here, because I think the PPoE interface in "bridging mode" may make traffic to and from clients on the WLAN look like traffic coming to and from the router/AP directly, almost like a proxy,

Hmmmm,, mabe the firewall rules need to be tweaked to block traffic to and from the router as well,,,

Just an idea...
