[HELP] PPPoE terminating... - peer is not responding

Wed Apr 28, 2010 1:04 pm

Hello. There was a problem:
We have customized billing Abills + Mikrotik PPPoE server.
The client connects, works 2-3 minutes and disconnecting with error:

<018c>: LCP missed echo reply
<018c>: PPP disconnected <peer is not responding>
<018c>: LCP lowerdown
<018c>: LCP closed
<018c>: CCP lowerdown
<018c>: IPCP lowerdown
<018c>: IPCP closed
u050094-1 logged out, 165 820632 13937 579 330
terminating... - peer is not responding
ether3: sent PADT to 00:20:ED:69:12:87
session-id=0x8c01
<018c>: PPP disconnected <disconnected>
<018c>: PPP destroy
<018c>: PPP stopped
<pppoe-u050094-1>: disconnected

from all the clients, this problem occurs only with one: u050094-1, other connection works fine.

In what may be the problem?
Thank you for your attention.

Hi,

have you considered possibility of dodgy layer 1? If there is a modem of some kind, can you check the signal quality, noise, error frames etc?

Cheers.

Hmm i have the same error for some of my clients, i even ran a ping to one of them with no timeouts but still terminating.... -peer is not responding. I have noticed however if i keep running a ping to google it stays connected. As if the internet connection needs to be in use.

Found why mine was giving problems.... had a few people connected to my High-sights in psuedobridge instead of staion wds. Psuedobridge on a network causes major crap.

I have this problem even with PCs on UTP. What might be the reason for this?
How can I extend time for terminating connection?
I've noticed that some users, even ones that only a few meters from PC where MikroTik Router OS is, are frequently being disconnected.
If you know something about this, please comment?
