reset rb750g

Tue May 11, 2010 9:42 am

Hi,
I had to reset the rb750g as I locked myself out by disabling the ethernet interface I was locally connected to.
Now, I don't seem to have the same ethernet ports. i.e. 1-gateway, 2 master ethernet, 3-slave ethernet, 4 slave ethernet.
I reloaded routerOS 4.9 but can't seem to see the same default config.
Router works as original, but I just don't have the same topology as factory.
Thanks

Hi,
Everything seems to working fine. I recollect seeing different interface names, before the reset.
1st port was, "gateway ether1", now it's simply ether1. 2nd port was "master ether2, now simply ether2. 3rd port was slave? ether3. 4th port was slave ether4. 5th port was slave ether5.
I thought that is what was the original factory settiongs? Correct me if I 'm wrong.

This pic is of the unit after reset.
Is this correct?
Again, everything seems to be working fine.
Just wondering if I lost any funtionality.
Thanks again

Have you used /system reset-configuration or /system reset-configuration no-defaults=yes?
Do you have any backup file at /file?

Thanks,
/system reset-configuration did it.
Don't think I'll be playing with the beta webfig and disabling etho port 3 again.
That got it back to familiar settings.
