Label not showing same info on some links

Fri Jun 04, 2010 8:23 am

I see that others have asked about this, but it's been a while. I'm wondering how I can get, or actually how to make it show up automagically... the
AP Name, Frequency, Signal Strength
IN-BITRATE
OUT-BITRATE

Some of my links are showing it, but not all of them. I'm using a fair share of Tranzeo stuff still, and I don't expect it to show up on those, but the Mikrotik unit's I have, I would like it to. Here's a link that show's it like I think it should be, as well as one that doesn't show all of the info.

Any ideas, folks? I've tried makeing sure the User/pass is all correct, I'm using "default" snmp, as well as i've tired v1 and v2. I've also tried removing them and re-adding them. I've also tried ROUTEROS vs. SNMP for Mastering type, as well as trying different Link Types. Nothing seems to work.
I also saw apost that said something about fonts... tried that with no success.

Thanks for you help, DUDE!!

You can change the appearance of a link label on a link in 3 different locations; global, map and link.

Right click on a label click appearance. If anything is added here it overrides the global and map settings.
Click on the top middle settings button, Appearance tab, Link...
Click on the to left settings button, Map tab, Link...

Is there anything customized for that map or those links?

Nope. Nothing customized at all. When I create the links, about every 5th or 6th one will come up with all of the information like I would like to see. Every other one comes up with just in and out info. When I go to appearance, it lists the same info on both links.
Here is one of my whole submaps. as you can see this one has two of the links showing the correct info, and the rest not. I can re-create any of them, and they will reappear just as they show here. That's why it's so weird. The ones showing right, will reappear right; the ones not, will reappear not.
My map is built with the top layer having all submaps, then links are all one layer deep. Not sure if that would make any difference. Some of the submaps then have links to other submaps, but always links to existsing ones, so nothing ever goes deeper that layer 2.

Just in case it helps, here is a couple more pics of the setup. This is one without the correct info.

Sounds like the MikroTik guys are going to need to help here...

Most of these are. I may have one or two still in the network that are later (v4.5 if they are). But it's stemmed from 3.x as well. At least 3.8 or 3.9 when I got started with MT gear.

Which is version of the device, which SNMP information is used to display the information (I mean detailed information)?
The configuration is the same for the link monitoring, SNMP and wireless interface.

Sergejs -

All of the devices are 4.9 now. They all act the same way regardless of what version they are. I have had this happen for some time now, with no reason why. The default appearance is set to:
[snmp_wireless_link_info()]Rx: [Interface.InBitRate][snmp_wireless_link_rx_rate()]
Tx: [Interface.OutBitRate][snmp_wireless_link_tx_rate()]

It is the default that comes up, and I have not changed it at all.

And if iu understand you correctly, yes.. all of the links and clients are set up the same, and appear the same under the settings tab. SNMP Profile is also set to DEFAULT, however I have tried v1 and v2 with no change in results.

Thanks!!

Now, I understand where is the problem.
The detailed report is available from mode=station, when mode=station interface is added for SNMP monitoring at Dude. (AP does not provide this information, as there could be multiple clients and it is not possible to show one signal-strength, how you can show it for mode=station).

AHHH!!! I see that I had some links as Station Pseudobridge and some as Station WDS. Once I change them to Station WDS they appear correct. So noted!!

Thank you!!
