Interesting, what kind of products? We have more than 10 new products coming this year, each will have their own.
I completely agree. It would be useful if you were to tell your distributors under an NDA, so that we can plan our ordering to coincide with new products.
Nick.
lol - funny stuff ... but to chime in. Are there any 2.4Ghz 1x1 n based solutions in the pipeline, or is that just another pipedream?I see that everyone has their special dream product that "would sell like hotcakes" and that "everyone needs", but everyone has a different one![]()
Don't worry, we will make them Lots of people dreamed about RB711 too.
Yes. MikroTik will make yet another (say 11) product for You. It will do your dishes, washing up, make food and of course do you a b*ow job.10 new products :/ :
RB711 with 1x ufl
RB711 with 1x mmcx
RB711 with 2x ufl
RB711 with 2x mmcx
RB711 with USB
RB711 with b/g radio
RB711 with JACK ?
RB711 with RS232
RB711 with more ram
RB711 with more CPU
Maybe others? :/
If You need this board indoor, then buy a DC PoE adapter and connect it only with UTP cable.Second mmcx is not necessary for me, but with DC JACK I can use this board for indoors without PoE.
No mate. You are wrong. I sell such devices every day and I know precisely what customers demand. Low price is the key. You cannot have everything in such low cost device and you still don't understand it. If LAN port will damage by lighning - sorry, but it's not MT fault that they've used integrated ethernet controller in CPU. It's your fault. Because You didn't make the installation properly. And who does it properly? Few people maybe. The rest connects everything as it would be used indoor and bingo - that's it. I know how it looks from inside, so don't tell me I'm wrong.I don`t attacking you, but I explained to you (in polish) just how much you are wrong about the real installation of lightning protection.
Cut costs too much? I don't think so. OK. Let it be $0.1 for DC in. One is cheap, but multiply it by hundred thousands of boards."MT tries to make boards for everyone" OK, but I think here (RB711) too cut costs.
Again You don't get it. If this board will be $x.x cheaper than 411+radio card, then spend saved money on proper installation. So in general who will install a good lightning protection for so cheap RB? Skipping the effectiveness of these safeguards. I understand that for distributors is a cool thing for more sales, etc. But a built-lan is only a problem for buyers in the future. Repair of built-in LAN (replacement of the CPU) will be significantly more expensive.
I think that, with the release of this board, the Mikrotik solution costs about the same, or less, as a Ubiquiti bullet + panel antenna. And your customers what they wanted to be sure they buy the cheapest products Ubiquity.
Do you know of any affordable 5 GHz dual polarity antennas we would use this with?and dual chain version of the board.
Depends what is affordable to you.Do you know of any affordable 5 GHz dual polarity antennas we would use this with?and dual chain version of the board.
There isI hope there is a 2 ghz version of this coming!
What antenna would you use to create a low cost dual chain CPE (if there was such a routerboard)?I'm disappointed in the lack of dual chains. A low cost CPE may not need the speed of dual chains, but it would allow for an overall more efficient RF environment. There would be better signal and more clients could share the speed dual chains provides.
I'm not sure as up until this product and the new NV2 I was only considering Ubiquiti for new wireless deployments. I haven't looked for low cost dual polarity antenna. Ubiquiti made their own, maybe Mikrotik should do the same? What antenna would you use to create a low cost dual chain CPE (if there was such a routerboard)?I'm disappointed in the lack of dual chains. What program did you use for programming wifi connection? Photo. It looks very niceyes, i could care less about the speeds, its the fact that I can provide service to 20% more clients now with dual polarity. Links that wouldnt work before now do just fine.
that antenna is laughable at best .... but it would make some sort of starting point. If they do, a product similar to this http://www.rfelements.com/StationBox-5G ... tenna.html would be decent starting point.
I used RadioMobile, get the Radio Link working, and then use File -> Export to Google Earth. Best feature I've found in the past week... I love that program. What program did you use for programming wifi connection? Photo. First affordable dual polarity enclosure I have seen, but 12 dBi is far too low. Thanks for sharing. If they do, a product similar to this http://www.rfelements.com/StationBox-5G ... tenna.html would be decent starting point.

one of 10 new products has a AR7240+AR9285We have more than 10 new products coming this year, each will have their own. This is for the integrators, they simply love them. Demand is very high.
We have /many/ products coming this year
maybe you didn't get it, but ... i'm not going to say what any of the remaining 9 (just a random number) areI want to know why not Mikrotik make AR9280 2×2 MIMO?
9 ? Get Notted. I make it 110 new products.the remaining 9
Obvious question, but did you try vertical and horizontal on both ends before ?I couldnt make this link using single polarity, but it works great with dual.
Yep. Lots.I get a parse error when trying to export to Google earth. Any suggestions?
Are they repairable? Because I have one, probably suffered from lightning damage, everything works fine, except LAN port is deaf. Happened after some lightning storm went by.Repair of an integrated LAN = processor replacement = much more $.
RMA? RB711 gets free replacement, read RMA instructions.100 RB711 purchased
5 RMA..
In that case, for you it means faster replacement. Nothing else.I RMA them to my distributor, which doesn't specify anything about RB711, i'll ask more info about that then
there will be many new products, including something along those lines. you know I can't confirm non-existing products, right?Normis,
Can you confirm whether or not there will be a 2GHz version of the 711? That would be very helpful to us as we are getting ready to put up a new site with R52Hn's and are going to be running on 2GHz.
i like mikrotik very much best of feautures and pricing, but none of the dealers & resellers in india don't give warranty for us..Vincent, if we would make something like that, it would not be for the most affordable device. Some people don't need many features. They need a cost effective device to make CPEs from. This is why we made RB711.
yes, i could care less about the speeds, its the fact that I can provide service to 20% more clients now with dual polarity. Links that wouldnt work before now do just fine.
I couldnt make this link using single polarity, but it works great with dual. Yes, it is a 2ft dish, but still it works vs not working.
definetelyHello.
We in Czech Republic have problems with the last delivery rb711-5Hn. It is very bad tx signal. About 20 db worse than it should be. Is it a manufacturing defect?
Hi dude..While mikrotik will not make something like: 680-800Mhz CPU (40-50k pps real traff via bridge), 1G ethernet, 2 mini-PCI, plastik outdoor box - we are not interested in use mikrotik on p2p links.
2-6 years ago I was mikrotiks fan, but last 2 years I can`t say that.
With best regards for Mikrotik! and sorry for my bad engl.
Man )) my plan is to get best hardware for p2p on 802.11 specification from Mikrotik.
Hi dude..
just can say, in this 2 years time, mikrotik is done a good job and we implement more than 500 wireless point by using the routerboard.
it just depend how well you plan and how you implement it.
trust me, if you are well planning, you will won't get failed.
thanks.
