At a remote site I have a radio site controller with a RS323 port that was originally designed to connect to a modem. They are using the CD (Carrier Detect) line to control when to enable the login prompt and auto logout.
I followed the examples in the wiki :
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Serial_Port_Usage
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Special_Login
This works nicely when its on the bench where I can control pulling the CD line high. In the real world it does not work, the device needs 10 min for login prompt to reset & often hangs.
Do any of the RouterBoards support the RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, or DCD signals on the serial port in this mode or are they left open on the PC board?
Also it appears that the telnet session strips off some of the non ASCII control characters used for xmodem downloads & screen drawing.
I have a IP to serial converter product that does the job, however being I have a RB450 at the site I was hoping to eliminate the extra box.
Thanks
