i made special null modem cable as per the mikrotik refernce manual

I had problems connecting via the serial cable and found that the cable I was using was bad or had an incorrect pin-out..

Get a hold of a known good cable and try connecting again.

There is not any differentce between power options.

Try baud-rate=9600.
Have you tried to access Router via Mac-Winbox ?

Try baud-rate=9600 for HyperTerminal program.

Change Ethernet cable, connect RouterBOARD to one switch with PC, check leds after switching on BOARD for Neighbor Viewer or MAC-Winbox accessing.
