Verify Wireless Setup

Thu Oct 27, 2005 12:55 am

Ok I searched a little but not exactly seen the answer to what I am looking for. I have a 2.9 MT box with 2 ethernet cards and adding a wireless card. I have all adapters recognised 2 Intel's and a D-Link DWL-G520 (detected as Atheros AR5213). I have a Public interface (Intel), Local (Intel) and the Wireless (DWL-G520). I have the wireless setup in AP Bridge mode. How do I have to setup the IP's for the 2 interfaces or does the wireless need one? I want the traffic between Local and Wireless to be like plugged into a switch or like a linksys router to where everything is open between them. Do i have to create another bridge? That was the only way I could make it work but did not seem correct. If I need to give any more info let me know. Also this may need to be in a different topic but the wireless card supports 108Mbps although I have not been able to get my laptop to register more than 54. It does support the 108. Any ideas on the correct setting for that also. And will normal 54 clients still be able to access?

Thanks
Jason

1. Create a bridge interface
2. Assign your ip to this interface
3. Add the wireless and ethernet interface to this bridge under >interface bridge port
Also this may need to be in a different topic but the wireless card supports 108Mbps although I have not been able to get my laptop to register more than 54. It does support the 108. Any ideas on the correct setting for that also. And will normal 54 clients still be able to access?
Not sure on this one. Sorry............

Dan
