Radius Server Recommendation

Fri Aug 20, 2004 1:05 am

I need help. I need advise on what recommended Radius server I
should be using with my Mikrotik router. I have looked at and like SteelBelted, but the price scares me. Do anyone else have recommendations. Im looking for a easy to use setup manage Radius solution.

Radius Server

We used the Experience Tech Clearbox Radius server. It was pretty cheap and has served us well. http://www.xperiencetech.com.

I have d/l this app and am no Radius expert. I am finding it confusing as to how to setup users. From What I can gather I need to modify the Access database manually to add users. The Q I also have is how do I define extra user attributes ie Bandwidth settings, IP address etc. Do
you have some simple setup documentation on implementing this Radius
soultion. Any help would be very appreciated/.

The whole idea of Radius is to hit a database instead of manually entering all your users into the Mikrotik.... So if you don't have another application that creates the database for you (we have a billing server), then yes you will have to manually create users in the database. We use Microsoft SQL server on the back of it.
