Windows7 / need for administrative rights

Fri Jan 07, 2011 11:14 pm

Hi,

I have a sstrange behaviour with Win7 and the Dude 4.0beta2:

My user account has administrator rights and installation works fine.
Firewall is turned off.

If I am starting the Dude by left click, a ping from the tools menue will
not work. Also discovery is not finding anything.

If I am starting the Dude with right click -> run as administrator, everything
is fine.

Maybe it's a lack of Win7 knowledge... I simply don't understand it.

Thanks

In Windows, that's normal.

In Windows, that's normal.
That's Right, it happens to many others aplications.

So, don't worry and keep on with right click, it's just one more step.

You can also make a shortcut to Dude, and in the shortcut properties, set "run as administrator"
